Title 1 TUTORING info to come home today or tomorrow

Look for the SES - Title 1 TUTORING Provider brochure to come home in your Child's backpack today 9/19 or tomorrow 9/20. IF you received a letter in the US Mail about a month ago, your Child is then eligible to attend SES=Supplemental Education Services aka TUTORING.

This year it is not based on if your Child is on Free & Reduced Lunch, but based on your Child's FCAT SCORES from last school year!

Call your Child's school front office and ask them if they have received the Title 1 Tutoring info via FED EX today or tomorrow.

Good luck securing Quality Tutoring Services via this wonderful Title 1 Program. Be on the alert for the brochure that will have your Child's name on it if they qualify. Again this is depending on their FCAT Scores from last school year.

If you have any questions pertaining to any of the TITLE 1 PROGRAMS in Broward Public Schools, here is the phone number to the TITLE 1 Office  (754) 321-1400

Your post is great to read. I was wondering if you have tried school tutoring?

Hi Pa UI, Thanks for your comment to my post about the SES-Title 1 Tutoring provided to a certain group of students.

No I have not tried any 'school tutoring' personally for my own daughter, which has never been offered anyway. Also....what IS "School Tutoring?"

Even IF there was "School Tutoring" available....I think I would pass on it as it would be more of the same of what does or does not go on during my child's academic school day. The SES Providers ARE SCHOOL TEACHERS working for an outside Provider that provides TUTORING Outside of the school campus. I have had the pleasure of working WITH and allowed to COLLABORATE her SES Provider Tutors to the unique learning style and unique learning strategies needed to really help my daughter learn a delayed academic skill.

The SES Provider Tutoring offered thru the TITLE 1 Programs is because of NCLB-No Child Left Behind Act and our schools NOT MEETING AYP ~ if our schools would provide to those students struggling the most with at home online computer help or with after school tutoring or any number of academic helps, our schools may be able to reach those students struggling the most with academics. Especially SWD and students with Down syndrome! I am a passionate educational advocate for those with Down syndrome absolutely!!...because my daughter has Down syndrome.

Are you a teacher or a parent?

Thank you for responding to my post with your suggestion, but honestly that has never been offered to have "School Tutoring"....who would be those tutors...the students regular classroom teachers they just spent the entire school day with?
